The outstanding setting and holding power of Bulwagga Anchors is well documented in the Practical Sailor and Power Boat Reports independent anchor tests. While we are proud that the Bull's overall performance bests all other anchors in tests, the real test of an anchor is how reliably it sets and holds when it really counts...

I've tried several different types of anchors and haven't been satisfied with their holding power, resetting ability or versatility. That was until I got the Bulwagga as a result of a respected friend's recommendation. I now sleep aboard without worry. It works well on short scope and doesn't need much chain. Oh Yes, one more thing, that shank that moves backwards enables the anchor to be retrieved from snags under rocks and logs…no other anchor I know of has such a method for retrieval."

"My crewman ran to the bow, dropped the Bulwagga as the boat slowed to a stop and we were blown broadside toward the rocks of the jetty by the wind. We paid out as much scope as we dared, no more than 3:1, I would guess. "22 lb. Danforth would drag constantly…Bulwagga bites every time (even through weeds) and wind changes of 180 degrees do not bother it. It simply re-sets itself. In tight anchorage like Burlington Harbor on short scope (25' of water with 90' of rode) she holds so you can get a good night's sleep."
